[ORIGINAL] Giants

Finished another song today, titled Giants. It could sound cool with electrified everything and drums, but I didn’t take that route — MAYBE I’ll do it after a snack or something…haha.

Anyway, about this song…I was thinking last night about how we have giants (Goliaths) in our lives, and the biggest Goliath we will always face is the sin that continues to dwell in our hearts and minds even though we know that we are free from it. One thing I hate about these “giants”/”Goliaths” in our lives is that they lie to us, saying there is nothing after death. But that is wrong, because we as Christians believe in our redemption by Jesus, allowing us to enter the pearly gates when we acknowledge our salvation by Him.

In the “second part” of the chorus, I talk about how a little light in darkness is able to illuminate, and that is true — even with just a mere candle in a room of darkness, light will still prevail. Darkness hides from light!

[ORIGINAL] The Return

On June 27 of this year, I had written down John 16:20-23 and titled a song called “The Happy World”. This song was meant to show how the world rejoiced at the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, but actually should have been mourning the loss (of course, we now have to be thankful because of the sacrifice, which redeemed all of us). Perhaps I worded that sentence incorrectly…

Today I’ve finished off that song, with complete lyrics, a different goal of the song and a different title. I first show how the world had rejoiced in the crucifixion, but those who had rejoiced and did not believe in the resurrection were actually fools. I then go on to show how only those who are alive can dream…and for sure, God is not dead.

[ORIGINAL] Goodbyes and Farewells

About the song:

This morning, I woke up (or was woken up) and thought about airplanes…
…and then I thought about people flying away (figuratively/literally).

So I started playing a few chords and then a version of a piece of scripture hit me and I went into a mad scramble to find it. When I randomly opened the Bible, I was at 1 John 5…and after reading, it was exactly the verse that was tugging at my heart, while I was writing the song.

1 John 5:9-13…

9 If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for the testimony is this, that He has testified concerning His Son.
10 The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son.
11 And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
12 He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.
13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.
