[COVER] Something to Say

Perhaps there are a few more recordings that can surface in anticipation of Weekend22? Like this one, which is a cover of Starfield’s Something To Say which is from their latest album The Saving One. I have still yet to perfect myself playing the keys and singing, mainly because I don’t have a telescopic boom mic stand…so I have to deal with the ghettoness and awkward quality for now.

Lyrics:

I’ve got something to say

It’s been one of those days

When I’m finding it hard to believe in You

I’ve got something to say

I’ve forgotten how to pray

And I’m finding it hard to believe the truth

I’ve got something to say

Right now it feels like You are slipping away

Like I am drowning in a crisis of faith

Like I’m alone

I’ve got something to say

What was black and white is grey

And I’m finding it hard to believe in You

And faith might mean there won’t be answers

And hope might mean enduring through the night

But help me not forget in darkness

The things that I believed in light

I’ve got something to say

Right now it feels like You are slipping away

Like I am drowning in a crisis of faith

Like I was found, but now I’m lost in the fray

[COVER] Going In Blind

Last Sunday (the 16th), instead of typing my sermon notes I recorded 3 covers. I didn’t immediately upload them, since I wondered how they sounded. The more I listened to them, the more I was displeased with how they sounded. In the end, I only let one cover to survive…and I will be re-doing the other 2. Or maybe I should just abandon those 2 redoes?

Here is POD‘s Going In Blind in my own style…much to your pleasure or displeasure. I’ve been reconsidering why I record…whether it is for my own glory or as part of my “ministry”, as I’ve been discouraged by the lack of feedback and response toward the recordings. However, I’ve also been thinking that if I am really treating this as a form of “ministry”, I shouldn’t mind about feedback (lack of, positivity, negativity) from fellow humans, and should be more concerned about whether the music I’m making (or covering) is pleasing to the one who hears all. And it most likely isn’t even close to His tastes and demands…

Lyrics:

One day… Some day..

This life not like you wanted it.
His eyes I can see again, I need you here.
In your mind nobody’s listening.
It’s alright not to feel again,
Just breathe again…

Time after time I walk the fine line,
But something keeps bringing me back.
Time after time I’m going in blind,
I don’t know which way I need to go…

Feels like your world is caving in
And I cry, failing to understand,
I wish I can…
It’s alright if you’re missing him,
In his eyes you can live again,
Free within!

Time after time I walk the fine line,
But something keeps bringing me back.
Time after time I’m going in blind,
I don’t know which way I need to go!

Time after time I walk the fine line,
But something keeps bringing me back.
Time after time I can’t see the signs,
I don’t know which way I need to go!
Do all these roads lead me back to you…
I don’t know which way I need to go.
one day? Some day!

Time after time I walk the fine line,
But something keeps bringing me back.
Time after time I’m going in blind,
I don’t know WHICH way I need to go!

Time after time I walk the fine line,
But something keeps bringing me back.
Time after time I can’t see the signs
do all these roads lead me back to you,
One day….

[COVER] Happiness!!!

Carl introduced me to Kimura Kaela (木村カエラ) a couple moons back with her PV for “Happiness!!!”, and yep…Kaela was pretty damn cute then. Recently, the craziness and interest had peaked! It must’ve been the animated gif of her twirling and getting dizzy, or constantly wanting to hear the song via Grooveshark and watching the PV again… but Columbia Music JP has been removing all her PVs from the Internet, which is unfortunate.

Either way, the desire for Happiness!!! began, and while that was a low-quality PSEye recording via Tokbox, the desire for higher quality (with me? yeah right) continued.

And now here we are.
In pseudo-Japanese…

And in English (translation by Corichan)…

My breakout into JPOP??? Most likely not.
I’m planning to shoot a higher quality Japanese video though.
