“Reckless”, by definition, means an action to be done without thought, care or consequence. I never thought the word “reckless” applies to God’s love; there are so many other words that can describe it! So, while I am entirely and utterly touched and reminded by every aspect of the verses and bridges (so much theology packed in there! 1 Jn 4:19; Rom 5:8; Mt 18:2; Lk 15:4), I am entirely and utterly frustrated at that one word, “reckless”.
Out of the thousands of words I could have used, I’ve chosen to replace reckless with the following (in order of usage, and application to the verses and bridge):
- Glorious
- Wondrous
- Redeeming
- Mysterious
- Passionate
- Magnificent
In this recording, I’m running delay on the electric and applied some reverb on the vocals in addition to the usual Compressor/Normalize.
An interesting combination…
Thoughts? Do you agree with some of the replacement choices?
