“Ell, Eh?” is a pseudo-side project of Luke Gregory and Adwin Lam (that’s me!). We formed up in time for the EWB/DPS acoustic cafe which happened on March 18, 2010 at UOIT. Read more about the night and view 4 videos of our closing set past the jump!
Originally told to have a set of 10-30mins, we ended up with a set of around 40-45mins. Due to some advertising discrepancies, EWB was setting up and gearing to start at around 5pm, while the other performers were going to arrive at around 6pm. Amin of DPS was there to help with set-up, just as he said he would be though! So Ell, Eh? opened up the night with the first run of our set, which ended up going from 5-9pm, to a very small crowd. There were a few stragglers once in a while, but never a large amount of people; most likely due to a midterm. However, Dean Rosen of the Faculty of Engineering was chilling and enjoying the tunes, which was very encouraging — I gave him a special shout-out, he gave me a puzzled look 🙂
Our massive setlist was:
- The Fray – How to Save A Life
- Bon Jovi – Wanted Dead or Alive
- Rise Against – Prayer of the Refugee
- Neil Young – Old Man
- Johnny Cash/NIN – Hurt
- NIN – The Hand That Feeds
- Wallflowers – One Headlight
- RHCP – Under the Bridge
- Deep Purple – Soldier of Fortune
After many other [MUCH better sounding] performances (and the total disappearance of the MBM students and bands), we ended the night off with an encore run-through of our set. Of course, we were short on time so we cut off a few songs but managed to
If you came out, thanks for coming out! If you didn’t, maybe you’ll catch us again next time 🙂
